I bought the PC version on DVD when it came out. As of the last few months I stopped buying hard copies of games, between work and home its annoying to have to take game discs with me. I've been re-buying all my games as they come out on Steam (I'M WAITING EA, WHERE IS BF1942) and just bought GTAIV. When I activated the hard copy I had to activate it 3 different times, DRM, Rockstar VIP and LIVE. I wanna pass the game along to a friend (for a nominal fee), but I don't know how that will work with all those activations.
 
Yes it's fine. I sold my physical copy on eBay and I was never contacted about it. I knew beforehand that it would work because I also sold Fallout 3 on eBay. Like stated above, the key is not tied to your account.

hmm alright. I guess it might be up to the publisher then? I know for a fact you can't resell Red Faction Guerrilla, because the key is locked to your LIVE account. i just assumed all GFWL games are doing that.

I know RE5, GTAIV, and Gears aren't tied to accounts. I believe RFG is tied due to activation. Pretty sure UAW isn't either, but haven't really tried.
 
With RF:G it specifically tole me it was going to be locked. I don't ever remember seeing that with any other GFWL game.
 
I posted on the GFWL support page. I had to activate a key on LIVE when I initially installed it.
 
According to GFWL forum, the key is stored in your registry and not tide to your account. Good luck!

Dude, before you try replying to a thread, get some information. Dont just jump in with your .02 if you dont know what your talking about. Yes you can sell your GFWL games and whoever buys it can play it just like you did. :rolleyes:
