Can I read a drive from a mirrored array?

I have a motherboard problem (already posted in that forum). It has a mirrored array hooked up to the silicon image controller on my MSI k8n neo4 platinum/sli motherboard.

I want the data on those drives. Can I just take one of the drives out and hook it up to another computer to read it? Am I stupid to think that? Will the metadata make it unreadable unless it's hooked up to a silicon image controller?

Help me ease my panic!!!!!

pull the drive, it will read fine, provided the data is still 100% good. Which it should be. The mirror just writes the exact same thing to each drive, you can pull one and use it as a solid backup, or whatever.

I will try, but after I posted I read a sticky on raid here that says 'since the controller writes metadata to the drive it can only be read afterwards by that controller'. Would that not effect a mirrored array as well?
