Can I RAID this board?

Hey everybody. I have this board and it has two SATA ports labled SATA0 and SATA1. Does this mean if I hook up two drives to the above ports it will be in RAID0 mode?
 
If it supposrts RAID shouldn't it say it suppots RAID? i Would say no.. there are two SATA connections you can connect two drives but not in RAID.

Download the board manual to make sure though
 
the abit boards all have raid[new ones]

they have 6 ports 4 on silicon image chip and 2 that go through the sb

both can use raid

get a new board:)

Thanks got the help. Guess I'm in the business for a PCI RAID controller. Do those work about the same as an onboard controller?
 
Its an I865 with the Intel ich5 not the ich5r


r is the raid designaiton therefore no raid on that controller

the pci controller use the pci bus bandwidth where as an ICH5R controller is naitive SATA . On paper the performance of the ich5r is better asusming you have saturated the pci bus. That rare and unlikely so you may not even notice.
