I bought some of this stuff about 2 and a half years ago. Used it on my 2.8 and i'm getting 7c higher load temps. My range between idle and load is very high. Idle is around 30-32c and load is around 47-49c

Whats the deal here? I was very very careful about applying the stuff :( It has now been about 2 or 3 weeks so it should have been worn in by now.

make sure u apply a small drop to the center of the chip and then place teh hsf on; best result is not to spread it but rather to let it settle in
also, have u checked other ailments such as case airflow or anything else taht you may have changed? just the little stuff

definetly make sure nothing has changed configuration-wise in your system, and then reseat the hsf. if that hasn't solved the issue, i'd try and get a second opinion on the temp, as the sensor might be off.

as for whether it'll expire or not, there won't be an expiration per say, but there can be seperation. read the storage section on this page and it'll describe how to properly store arctic silver.
