C2D + MicroATX + SLI

that's all i want. my 8800GTS SLI is seriously bottlenecked by AMD FX-60... selling the second 8800GTS now... :(

anyone knows when MicroATX mobos will be out with C2D and SLI support?...

I mean, thats just me making an educated guess based on past SFF market scheduling. But, recently mATX production has gone up, so who knows. In the case of the 939 SLI, we at least had photos from computex and CES to show for it; as of right now, there is nothing at all to suspect any manufac.'s even thinking of anymore sli matx mobos.

Crossflow is smaller than a Qpack and can run almost any ATX mobos. I would love to build one with Conroe and 8800GTX in SLI...

soulds like you replied to a wrong thread, buddy. for the record, 8800GTX will not fit in most, if not all, SFF cases.

Qmicra is not a true SFF box. :) it's 1.5 bigger (taller and longer) that my case.

I beg to differ. Just because the Qmicra is bigger than your sugo, doesn't mean it's not a SFF. The Microfly is bigger than the Qpack does that mean that it's not a true SFF either. I'm just curious what your definition of SFF is? Anyways good luck with that C2D matX SLi board. <3

You may say its not a SFF comp but its shorter and less deep than a Qpack.

And there is no reason I cant chop off 3 more inches and install a mATX mobo, Than it would be 4" less deep than a Qpack.

These guys are goofy, first thay say my comp cant be SFF because it uses a ATX mobo, even though its smaller than a Qpack,
Than they tell you yours isant a SFF (with a mATX mobo)because the case is too big.. LOL

your case is an sff. Size is what matters. Their definition has no basis and consistency, as long as it's matx it can be sff? Size should be the defining factor, why? Because \measurement is a consistent and easy way to define something that is defined by size (SMALL form factor, not matx form factor), not stupid technicalities about the mobo form factor. :rolleyes:

Well I say codeflux is goofy. I believe Dillusion, Steve and Dworley are the 3 most knowledgable members of our own SFF community and I'm positve Steve and Dworley would vouch in favor of the Qmicra.

LOL, dam what a monster. That mobo is .8" too long to be a SFF.... :D

Mabye we need a new size just for us like SSFF (stretched small form factor) :rolleyes:

I respect the SFF 3 Musketeers, and value their opinions and knowledge but, using that mentality means you could put a mATX board in a full tower and it qualifies as small form factor due to MoBo size...I vote for footprint...

i concur on this, it's all about the size of the case, because if it only encompassed mATX boards, what about the mITX, mBTX, etc?
 
I think you did a great job with the case and personally i would ditch my qpack for the ability to run a full size atx board in the same space as my qpack occupies now. Good Job!

Everyone has their own opinion on what a SFF is. Agree to disagree.

I would not count on a SLI board, which is what I said when some guy asked when there would be a quad SLI mATX board. Ya um... in your wet dreams.

well, SFF or not, that's still besides the point.

if one needs to use an ATX motherboard to run SLI, well, i guess that's how the industry sees the market. i may be one of a few who want big power in small packages - i prefer to carry a small stick...
 
I dont understand why you still insist on using a INFERIOR mobo after I have given you the answer to your dreams...

You can easily fit a ATX mobo with SLI into ur case.

maybe the reason the MARKET isant releasing mATX mobos (C2D, SLI) is because they understand my point as well..

that would require extensive modifications to the case, and it would no longer be small enough for my needs. you can cram 10 people into a civic, it doesn't mean that it's good idea.
 
You miss the point, Crossflow is a SUPERIOR design. Better cooling, no clutter, ANY PS you want. All in the same case,,

If you spent $4000 on your comp what is the difference if you spend a extra $100 for the EXACT SAME SIZE CASE that works 100 times better? :rolleyes:
