I can get a used 2500k for 60% of the brand new price.
It's been a folding CPU and is 100% stable at 1.45v and 4.9ghz 24/7.

However I'll propably only run it at 1.2v, seems like this CPU is pretty much average performer not bad OC and not good OC, right?

4.9 is actually a pretty good overclock, but I don't know how I'd feel about it having been run at 1.45V (and probably pretty high temps) 24/7 for any length of time.

Why are you spreading disinformation? How do you know what temps the cpu was running at? Most of us Folders actually keep our HW WAY cooler then your average gamer, especially @ high overclocks since A) it is expensive, and B) Folding is very sensitive to heat, and will cause an OC to fail much quicker then any stability out there..

In the casual/overclocker world, they want their games stable and maybe Prime95/IBT for a few hours..In our world, that kind of dismal stability testing HURTS what we are working toward, by returning bad data that other Folders would have to re-crunch...

OP, that is a very nice CPU overclock, and I personally wouldn't worry one bit as long running even @ the same 1.45Vcore assuming you can keep your temps @ a reasonable level..Remember these cpus are designed for your average POS BigBox builder, which usually give their systems crap for airflow..The cpu doesn't care if it is running @ 60C under load, or 95C, as long as it isn't throttling then it is performing as designed..

Ummm, it's an opinion - hence the words "I don't know how I'd feel" and "probably" - climb down off the high horse. It's been running at 1.45V 24/7 - and that's something I would consider when I was purchasing a used CPU. As for the temp issue, you don't know what temp it was run at either (hence your use of the word "most"), so your "disinformation" is the same as mine - and again, it's something to consider when buying a used CPU.

And to clarify, I'm not saying don't buy it, just that you should consider the previous condition/use when making the buying decision.

I agree, even with a dh14 that is pretty high for voltage. If it was on good water, then not too bad.
Who knows how hot, but if it was folding 24/7 at high heat, might be something to think about.

4.9 is a good O/C for a 2500k, I read somewhere that only something like 15% of the 25-2600k's would do 4.8Ghz+, (without extreme cooling solutions), so its a pretty good chip. That being said, 1.45v is alot of volts to push 24/7, I'd be much more worried about the voltage its seen then the heat. Even at 1.45v, a solid closed loop system like a Corsair H-70 can keep a 2500k or 2600k below 80C at all times. But that much voltage will defiantly take some life off the chip...

Ok, I decided to buy the CPU.
According the seller 2 months folding: 4.9ghz@1.45v with NH-D14, never over 65C usually 60C.

Not sure if that temperature sounds realistic(!) but my guess is he runs push pull and high rpm fans.

Or I'm getting scammed :D
But honestly he seems to be extreme folder with non consumer cpu's so I think it's legit.

Well my impression was that it was 2 months on air and the rest of the time on water, it prolly has been folding under water for 4-8 months.
So I guess the folding is 6-10 months in total.

Either way I'm hoping to atleast get 2 years (24months) of this cpu.

But I guess there could be a not so nice surprise for me in the following months if electromigration is a big factor on 32nm CPU's :p
