Just a basic question.

I have 3 IDE HDDs already, and a Lite-On CDRW.

I saw an ad for a cheap 200GB IDE drive, should I just wait and get a SATA drive in a few months, or purchase a PCI IDE card? Cause its cheaper to get the card and cables than it is to find the cheap IDE to SATA converters. Unless someone has a source for reliable ones under $20.

Depends on how much you care about performance. If you're just stockpiling movies, music, etc. on it or aren't running other bandwidth sucking devices on your PCI bus (TV card, vid card, etc.) I don't see why not.
Another option is an external enclosure. They're not all that much $$$, and you get a portable disk out of the deal.
