Alright, I have a 3.0c and I'm looking to buy a new cooler, heard some good things about the sp-94 so I'm looking at getting that, I need to know what else to get? I know I need some artic silver or something, do I need a solvent to remove the residue from the stock stuff? And any other things I should know or need? thanks

You wont go wrong with a thermalright HSF. The instructions can be a bit cryptic but just follow them carefully and you'll be ok. Make sure you get a good fan to go with it - look for a panaflo 92mm high output and avoid vantec tornados unless you like listening to hairdriers 
As for thermal paste, i use Artic Silver Ceramique which is similar to AS5 but doesnt conduct electricity and is far easier to clean up. Visit the AS website for details on how to apply thermal grease on a CPU properly.

I have the SP94 by Thermalright now. I am very happy with it though I do not OC. My idle temps are usually between 30-35c depending on room temp. I am in the same boat as you as my room gets quite hot during the summer.
The only thing I am not too keen about is the sheer weight of it. It's 590g! There are two coolers put out by Thermalright called the XP90 and the XP120. The XP90 uses 92mm fan to cool it and the XP120 uses a 120mm fan. I tried the XP120mm and it didn't cool any better than my sp94, but since it used a 120mm fan that spins lower and moves more air, it was much quieter. But the difference was only about 1 or 2 degrees better. The XP90 is supposed to be even better than the SP94 and XP120. The XP90 and XP120 both weigh MUCH less than the SP94.
I am going to try the XP90 when I get home. I'll let you know. Heck if it works, I'll sell you my SP94 and a 92mm fan.
