buying a new 80 gb HD... any suggestions????

Hi there..

I've been searching in Ebay for a new 80 GB hard disk, but there are sooo many....

I think I'm gonna use it as my primary hard disk, for Windows XP, and keep the current and old 40 GB seagate as a backup HD... I don't need more...

Do u have any idea what brand should I get?? Is there a comparison review where I should look at??

Performace of all the current 7200 drives is very similar, as is their price. The only company I would stay away from is Maxtor because they lead the industry by far in warranty claims. Hitachi's drives are formerly known as the IBM "death stars", although they have much improved them since then. Western Digital is good, and Seagate has a 5 year warranty nowadays, but you will probably have to pay a few bucks more than WD.
