Hey all finally got my PC up and running and it does a peculiar thing. First of my system specs...
P4 3.0C
DFI Lanparty Pro875B
1 Gig Mushkin Value Ram
ATI AIW 9600 Pro
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
80 Gig WD SE Hard Drive
120 Gig WD SE Hard Drive
LITEON 4XMultiformat DVD Burner
LiteOn 48X24X48X16 DVD Rom/CDRW
Antec 480 Watt Trueblue PSU

Okay the little annoyance, when I flip the switch to the PSU
to allow juice to flow to the components before start up all the fans in the case whether they are hooked up to the PSU or motherboard momentarily (like for one second) spin up, then it stops. The PC boots up normally and I have had no problems installing any thing even the OS (WinXP Home) what could possible cause this.

That's normal for some boards. Put the PC on a powerstrip, and leave the PSU switch "on" all the time. Shut off power to the system by the powerstrip, and not the actual PSU.

Thanks it still a bit unerving but I guees I can live with it. It is on a powerstrip it was just something I notice on initial startup.

Hey not to thread crap as they would say on my own thread but
heres another question concerning the start up on this board. I enabled start up on hot key in bios Ctrl-F1 but will not let me turn on the pc using the keyboard,(logitech elite) it seems that for this to happen the mb must provide some juice to the keyboard and mouse to do this. It appears that this is not the case as the num light or function key is not list up. Oh yeah I'm using it through the PS2 port thanks all in advance for this troubleshooting. Again the MB is the DFI Pro875B. (Oh yeah I updated the BIOS as wel)

the issue is with your function key, the F1 is probably off

is there a different option for starting it?

It seems even if I try to power on the computer with any key it does not seem to work. It seems that there is no power going to the keyboard and mouse to allow this function to work. My other PC allows this function and you can see that there is power to the keyboard and mouse(same make for both) The other MB is and abit IT7 Max2 Ver. 2.0

How is the KB hooked up? If it is to USB, you're SOL because there is no standby juice for USB like there is for PS2 connections. So use that little adaptery thingy that the KB came with and then try it.

Don't worry, mine does this too. It's just some motherboards, b/c my AI7 didn't do it, but my D875PBZ does.

Doesn't really bother me, b/c I hardly ever turn of the PSU.

Does that fix it?

i have my MS Office keyboard hooked up on PS/2 so i can use the power on by keyboard feature

I emailed Antec and they said that it was normal for the fans in the case to do this. Reassuring kinda but still unnerving. The powerstrip does not help because I power down everything when I leave my house (paranoid over fire hazards and all), and when I turn the strip on same thing occurs.

My keyboard is connected to the PS2 port using the little adapter.
I reloaded my failsafe defaults, reflashed BIOS, and went through each setting one at a time and now it works. Thanks all for your help, if this is only a temp fix I'll let you know
