I am planning on modding my computer massively over the holidays. I was planning on getting water cooling, I just don't know what products are the best bang for the buck. I was hoping you guys could give me a list of things I need to buy and some links please ^_^

XP 2500-m @ 2.4 right now
ATI Radeon 9800 pro 128 mb
Lian-Li PC65b

Also, I wanted to know whats the radiator everyone is using, it has a silver grill with dual 120 mm fans ( I think that may be seperate, but I don't know  please help)

Okay, I plan on installing the rad at the top of the case over the top 5.25inch bay, and using another one of the 5.25 inch bays for a resevoir. The pump I figure can go at the bottom of the case where the HDD cage used to be ( I dont have a floppy installed so i put my 2 HDD's in the top and bottom spot of the 3 3.5 inch slots).

Sorry if that is all a little weird, and the grammar is poor etc etc. I'm really tired, I just wanted to post this before I went to slp. Thanks :)

I'd also like to add a few things. I'd like to go with 1/2 inch tubing if thats possible without spending that much more money on waterblocks etc.

I work at a LAN centre, and I'm worried that moving my computer back and fourth literally 5 or 6 days a week will be a problem? Don't tell me I'm stupid for thinking I could take a computer back and fourth from my house everyday is safe, I just thought watercooling is a lot more secure now than when it first started becoming popular. If it's a big risk, then I won't do it, I'll just have to life with the Vantec Vacuum (lol) on my heatsink :

first off, if you are moving your computer a lot watercooling might not be a good idea, not so much that it isn't safe, but more for the fact that water is heavy! If you properly secure your fittings, and dont drive like a maniac over some BMX course you shouldn't have a problem transporting it, other than the weight.

The radiatior you are referring to is most likely a '77 bonneville heatercore. It is the right size to use dual 120mm fans on it, check around the forums, there are many links to people who sell premodded heatercores and fan shrouds for good prices.

Hmm, I'd like to hear if anyone else LANs ALOT(!!!) and has WCing. I would like to know if the weight is really that much different

Water and it's components will add considerable weight but did you ever simply consider draining the water when in transit. I did it when I went to QuakeCon (Dallas) via aircraft from San Francisco.

I don't want to drain the water almost every day though :\

Then dont if you really do go that often. There is a give and take on everything.

Yeah, I am one of those people... now when using the system in active configuration (only the 3x120 rad), it weighs about 8 kilos more, brnging the Chieftec Mesh Bigtower (HUGE, all-steel) to 23 Kilograms. Add the hardware, and ou're at 31 kilos.

Then, if it's a long lan, I'll bring the passive rad, another 10 kilos. But it's all wheeled and fitted with handles, it's okay really.
