Build a low cost i7 hex core system

Cogage True Spirts

They are mid priced but they work with the backplate that is on the SR-2.

I'm running my L5640's at 54c under them currently.

I have the True Spirits as well. There are a couple of us. My SR-2 hovers around 60C running bigadv.

Oh sure, you guys tell me this now just after I sold a Cogage TS to musky. :p

I run CM Hyper N520s with higher flow fans on one of mine and plan to run the 92mm Noctual Xeon coolers with higher flow fans on the other. This is entirely because I happen to already have them. If I were starting from scratch, I'd go with True Spirits. They are plenty powerful for what these chips will put off, and the socket 1366 bolt-through kits that usually come with them will mount up to the stock Xeon backplates (per Kendrak.)

Ordered a couple Cogage True Spirit HSF's per the positive recommendations.

Has anyone verified that these L5640 ES chips are 60 Watt or 80 Watt chips yet?

According to HWiNFO32, they are 80W chips. If you have a better program, I'll try it to verify.

Anyone know where I can find information regarding which mobo support this cpu (L5640) ?
Seems only Asus WS boards can handle this cpu ..
