Hi,

This will be my first SFF build and I am a little lost...I am desperatly trying to keep the cost of everything under 500 US shipped. The only thing I will be reusing is my Intel X-25 80GB SSD.

I'm at 460 total, and still need a hsf and ram....In the future, I'd like to get a different case and turn these components into a ZFS FreeNAS box. I need this PC for work/burning DVDs/light gaming/web browsing.

Any suggestions? Should I maybe try an AMD build to be cheaper?

you could probably leave the power supply out and keep the one that's inside the case. it's an 80 plus.. and i dont think the video card or cpu will take much draw from it..
 
IIRC, you need a SFX power supply for the Sugo 05 and 06 cases, right? I think the one you've selected will be a bit long (the ATX standard is fine for the face (exhaust) width and height, but the issue with these cases is the length).

The one that comes with the case is actually pretty good ;)

I'm building a similar system (differences are mobo, no vid card, and two extra 2tb hdd's and a tv tuner), and the 300 watter seems to be working fine
 
Case is Mini ITX motherboard is Mirco ATX so they wont work together. And you WONT need the extra PSU
 
mini ITX chassis, micro ATX board... no go. pick a different chassis (a mATX one), or a different board (mini-ITX). you're not going to need any more PSU than what's already in there for this build.
 
 
I cannot reccomend the OCZ power supply. I'd go Antec, Corsair, Silverstone or Thermaltake. Also, in that V351 chassis, you're going to have a lot of extra cable length on your PSU leads. FWIW, The Silverstones come in a fully modular design, and for another $20 you can get the short cable set, to ease the wiring nightmare.

this isn't really a high end rig, why not just use the stock HSF?
 
wow you went from a $400 build to a $700+ build in what 4 posts? Why?

will be a nice build, but I just can't see spending that kind of money for that kind of system
 
Yeah...I'm a little over budget and having a hard time keeping things under control....

I'd keep the Corsair 400W you picked in your first post.

Consider getting this memory instead:

It costs the same as the RAM you picked, but it operates at a lower voltage (no free shipping though).

I don't see any particular reason to get the Maximus III Gene, especially since you're only using 1 video card. Just keep the mobo from your first post.

Silverstone has a microATX case that it almost the same as the mini-ITX one you picked in your first post, and its a little bit cheaper than the Lian-Li:

You went from a 5570 to a 5670 and you said you wanted to do light gaming. What monitor do you have and what resolution does it use?

No offence, but thats about Crap.. Money isnt being spent wisely..

Its an AMD Build, but try this..

Shipped Cost of 628 (use promo code MBTEN) & it would WAY outperform the quoted build. Also the difference in PSU alone will save you lots of migraines down the road.. & a HELL of alot better video.
