bsod during fresh installation

mb: ga-8siml
ram: 266mhz 256mb ram
cpu: intel pentium 4 1.7ghz
hdd: maxtor 40gig
onboard: sound, vga, lan

when i start up the com.... the memory test read 224mb instead of 256mb
not should it;s due to shared graphics memory 32mb... anyone can help?

plus.... when i partitioned and then install winxp sp2... during the installation, it give me the blue screen....
so which hardware is faulty???
anyone out there got this problem???
 
yes, it's using 32mb of your ram for the video

download Memtest86 and check for memory errors
 
99% chance it's bad RAM, or RAM of the wrong speed.
1% chance you got your heatsink seated improperly.
