I know your probably sick of these kind of threads in this forums, but anyway

This will be for my brother and his girlfriend. I'm trying to stay under $600
printer/scanner will be bought at a local store (BB, Wal-mart, etc...)
he hasn't told me what case he wants yet so I'm assuming around $60 for that

He'll mainly be using this for light CAD work ( mostlly add-ons for Hummers ) and can't use his work computer since it's a company in competition with his gf's dad company where he works.

also to those of you who do this kinda work alot ( build custom computers ) for clients that live quite a distance away do you charge an amount per miles traveled to and from, if so how much per mile, from what I've calculated i'll have to charge $.20/mile to recoupe the $ for gas ( around $90 or two full tanks )
 
Looks ok to me. Cad work is never easy on the system even if it light. Maybe 1gig of memory would help more. Also is there a specific need for a floppy? I mean, do people still use those for something? ;)
 
mobo bios updates, sata drivers, plus some people still only need less than 1.44mb


thanks though ya I'll probably add anoth 512 stick I'm just waiting to find out what case he wants so i can figure it into my price
 
Not sure what you'd need for cad, but if it involves graphics, never use a 5200. At least get a 5700, or hopefully a 6600GT. And i second the 1 gig of ram.
