Well, I was messing around with my camera and I accendentally dropped it. So the part of the lense assembly that comes out for focus and zoom was crooked. I bent it back in place, and it started to move again, but very slowly. Then I tried to see if zoom worked, and then the assembly wouldn't move at all, and now its stuck like that. My warrenty was up for it, and it said that it would be 140 dollars to repair it. Sucks.

Not the end though, my Dad has the same camera and an extended warrenty. So he had the idea of taking my camera back under his warrenty. So we went to CompUSSR( ) where my Dad bought his. And they took it for repair! Friggen awesome, the guy checked my camera's serial number, it didn't match, but becuase he did trust the system, he did a different number. So they took and it'll be repaired.

Moral: Don't break your camera unless somebody else has the same one plus extended warrenty. :)

I know where you're coming from and it stinks to have an expensive item break, but come on seriously! This is abusing the system. Get some renters insurance or something that will cover the cost of broken items like this. I opted for it and my insurance is less. If I drop my camera/crack the CCD while cleaning it then the insurance company picks up the tab, and it's a legit way to do it. They only thing my insurance policy won't cover is if I intentionally break or lose my own posessions or normal wear and tear.. BTW it covers everything in my house, including my new Dell 2005fpw. It's cheap insurance to, much cheaper than extended warrenties, plus it covers all my property.
It's certainly not cool to abuse the system like you did. I know it stinks but that's not being responsible for your own mistakes. Learn and grow.

Yeah, I know I really shouldn't be doing this, and if I do break it again I certainly will pay the 140 dollars for the repair. Hopefully I won't break it again. I can't really have insurance yet, I'm only 16 years old, doubt I will be able to get insurance like that. I abused the system, and will not do it again. :(

maybe you shouldnt be posting confessions to criminal activity on the internet.
