Well seems somethin killed my 9600 pro today. I dunno what it was. Compy was on most of the day. at about 2am i double clicked on the F@H tray icon to bring up the main display and all of a sudden my display goes to black. at first i thought it restarted or locked up. turns out my comp was still runnin but without video. restarted no video...turned it off and back on...no video. i guess its 9100IGP time for me til i get money or til my card miraculously comes back to life lol

I had something similar happen a few months back when I moved (Sapphire R9500 NP)..My computer worked just prior to packing it up, and once I got to the new place and plugged it in - NO GO.. No combination of mobo and/or chipset uninstall/reinstall/cleaning, removal of all case components/general cleaning or format/reinstall of XP seemed to work. I don't recall, but I think the card did in fact work in my backup PC.
I was researching buying a new card, and @ the time it sucked, because I didn't have (well didn't want to
) the $2-300 to spend on such a thing. Just as I was about to give up and click the add-to-cart @ the 'Egg, I tried my card again - and it *worked*.
Long story short - don't give up yet, things may very well work out for you...
I would suggest that you first try out the card in another known working PC, if one is available, assuming that you haven't already done so.

Yeah I took it out. Messed with the heatsink to make sure it was makin contact. Put it back in and it booted fine. Hate when that happens. It was fun usin the IGP for a bit though. I have to say Source looks really nice even in DX7 mode.
