You're assuming this NEWLY built computer has WINDOWS... His suggestions on how to turn on and off are quite applicable and not overcomplicated. Trying to correct him does no good... Just suggesting that when Windows (assuming he will be installing WINDOWS which he didnt say he was) is installed he can shut it down via software (also assuming his hardware he chose correctly implements APM 1.0 and later), would have been more logical and polite. Lots of assumptions if you ask me.Nivram said:Um.....quick question? Why would he need to turn off the computer by shorting the power switch pins, or turning off the power supply switch? Doesn't Windows have a perfectly acceptable and useful feature, accessible via:
START>TURN OFF COMPUTER>TURN OFF
