i have a perfectly functioning primary hard drive with windows xp on it. I want to put in my dad's hard drive as a secondary one but when i start it up, it shows windows ME (from my dad's hard drive).

so i know theres a problem with the boot order but i tried changing it at startup and still it doesnt work..

any suggestions?

uhhh.. are the jumpers set correctly on the hard drives themselves? Double check that first.

Make sure that the XP drive is set to master, and its on the primary channel. Check the the drive is detected as such in the BIOS, and you should be right to go.
