I finally got my whole computer together...It started on first try but saddly, nothing posted onto the monitor. Nothing shows up at all, blank screen!!

I'm not sure what could be wrong.

Specs :

Chaintech VNF4 Ultra Zenith VE
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ S939
Seagate 7200RPM 120GB SATA
Ultra 500W PS
Sapphire Radeon 7000 PCI (temp)

I guess thats about it. All the fans run and I can hear (and feel) the hard drive go on. Everything lights up it just won't do anything... :( :(

Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions please post them!

Firstly, take everything out except the CPU, RAM and video card. Try booting it up then. If that doesn't work, re-set the BIOS - there should be a jumper for it on the motherboard. That can solve that sort of problem.
Also, check that the motherboard isn't shorting against the case or anything - there has been a lot of problems like that where the motherboard was shorting against some part of the case and causing those problems.

Also, check the power supply to see if it there is a problem there. Finally, it could be a motherboard problem. But reset the BIOS and check for shorts, thats your best bet for the moment.
 
I had a mobo what would not post because 1 screw was not tight. :confused:

True? I didn't think that sort of thing could cause a computer not to boot. What mobo was it? Could this be the issue here? Will the loose screw screw up the computer? Could I be any more dramatic about the end of this post? :p
 
Well i Just redid every screw in the board with all the spacers nice and tight. I'm about to re-wire the rest. Hopefully it will work

EDIT : No luck, do you think they will let me return the board for a different one??

where did you get it..? anyways - they should do..
 
1) Did you pull everything except for the RAM, Mobo, and Vid card? If not, try that. (Try to put the Mobo and such on a piece of cardboard to eliminate the possiblity of a short.
2) Reset the BIOS
3) Do you have a spare vid card laying around? Try a different one if you do.
4) Stupid (I know) but are you sure the monitor is working? Can you swap that?

Just swap out what you can to confirm that the issue is indeed a RMA'able problem.

I pulled out everything and i have it on that anti-static bag thing that it came in...

This is what it does so far :

The power LED keeps Flashing
The HD LED flashes 3 times
The processor works cuz it gets how...

The monitor and vid card work since they were from my old computer (the one im using now)

I'll go take out the ram.. see if it makes a difference
