Seems like my c: dirve's boot sector is gone. I get the boot-disk failure message. Even the XP Pro recovery could not do anything.

I even set it as "slave" and tried to see if I can retrieve the data, but I get the "The disk in dirve is not formatted" error.

I just need to retrieve my FAVORTIES and MY DOCUMENTS folders, that is all.


If you know any softwar package that would allow me to retrive these files, I would be most greatful.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
If I remember right you can repair an XP boot sector by booting from the XP disk and typing "FixMBR" or something like that.
But dont hold me to that.
