Boot or DOS benchmarks?

I've seen this asked many times in many forums, and it doesn't seem like it was ever answered.

Basically, I have several combos that I would like to compare without the hassle of loading Windows onto each system just to benchmark.

I don't need detailed performance results... I'd be happy with something that would just give a relative performance number that I can compare between each setup.
 
There used to be some really old DOS benchmark suites.. but they are going to be completely useless for newer hardware.

Plus you are not going to find anything that will test newer video cards in DOS.
 
yeah, I found a simple benchmark in UBCD... but it wasn't suited for anything newer than PentIII/4 era.

I don't care about VGA performance. All the combos that I want to compare are all PCI-e, so that becomes irrelevant, as a common denominator. I'm really looking to compare CPU/chipset/ram performance across several brands and platforms.
