Boosting performance with a 64meg card

I have this 64meg Quadro PCIe card on my new machine. This is a graphics workstation. No games. The display quality is excellent, but when I have InDesign, Photoshop, Quark and a half dozen other things running, I feel that the video card is holding things back a bit (3800X2 @ 2.5). This is only an issue when I have a lot of things happening at once.

What's the best way to allocate some more system memory to help out? Or should I be in the market for a more powerful card. I really like this Quadro, but I want a little more oomph when I'm multitasking. I have 2x512mb of Patriot DDR400. Thanks....
