Blue shift in Lightstrobe/Lightboost

I've used light strobing off and on on my S27A950D. While I think the motion clarity is just damn near perfect I never understood what lead the monitor to have such a strong blue shift when in use. While I understand the dimming of the monitor due to you essentially only having 50% of the light available, I was curious what would cause the colors to change?

This particular monitor has excellent colors for a TN panel so I end up just disabling light strobing about 80% of the time.

Is it really impossible for this technology to be had without the severe color distortion? I realize this is old news, but I never really saw why any of the cons of using light strobing exist.
