this is the second time that my computer has done this. I was playing Vice City and everything halts and a blue screen comes up and says "the system has halted there was a hardware malfunction"

This has never happened before and i haven't done any changes.
My question is what is causing this???

My specs are
celeron 800 mhz
256 mb 133 mhz ram
Geforce 4 mx 440 64 mb pci

(i know this thing sucks and its about 5 years and i have no money to upgrade but i don't need it because this thing does what i want it to)

Possible causes.

Dust/ heat.
Check all fans are still working and that your heatsink are not full of dust.

Drivers.
Have you installed any new drivers or hardware lately. If so it may not be playing nice.

Virus/ Malware.
When was it you last ran a Virus, Spy, Mal-ware check.

Age.
Thing just break as they get older.

Next time you get a nice B.S.O.D. write down eveything that on the screen.
The Stop 0x00????? code and whats writen down with it will give you a clue as to whats going wrong.
