First off, my apologies in advance if this is in the wrong area.

About a hour ago, I was just doing the normal stuff on my computer. Then without warning or reason, it gives me the blue screen of "physical memory dump" and all of that. So, I had to re-start. This isn't the first time this has happened. Only this time, after the Windows XP loading screen, it doesn't go to my user login. It just stays blank.

I'm obviously in safe mode now, and I tried a virus scan to see if that was the problem. Nope.

Any ideas as to what may be the problem? Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you.

The code from the BSoD will tell you what the problem is. If you are running stable in Safe mode, then most likely it's a driver issue, followed by a hardware issue, such as a bad video card, etc.

A friend of mine suggested removing the RAM, and placing it into another RAM slot. Would that be a good suggestion?

I don't really see the value in doing that, other than the test if one particular memory slot is bad.. If you think the memory might be the problem, run memtest on it for a while.
