Now if only there was an all-black non-windowed version. Also, I've read that the Aspire case fan is louder than the Chenming fan. Anyone know if this is true, and if so, know of any better 120 mm fans to replace it with?

enermax 120mm fans i like very much , can adjust them to slowest voltage for optimal quietness. my thermaltake i cant lower voltage below 7 volts before it starts clicking .

The Panaflo 120mm fan is said to be the best...although I don't really know this for sure.
 
im also looking at getting a black qpack
i have a modding ques
how feasible it is to add 2 120mm intake fans on the bottom front corners of the side windows? and maybe 1 exhaust on the top window?
is this difficult and what tools would i need to do so?
 
why cant i use 120mm fans? different type of power plugs? i really didnt know that 120mm fans were unfeasible

Why cant you use 120's? Its bigger than my Ice Cube I had and I put a 120 on that one.

 
you would still be hard pressed....you would dig into the motherboad most likely.
 
you could mount it externally and have the cable route through the fan hole :cool: I would just go with dual 90s though, one on each side. As for tools, dremels work great for cutting acrylic
 
mounting externally will be a prob as my system will be flying with me every so often and will have to be a well padded bag...guess i have to settle for 92mm fans :)
 
You could probably mod and exhaust vent in the top panel, but not a fan.

Another issue with fans (80 or 92mm) mouted internally on the side front would be mounting the case top panel. It is basically a big inverted U that slides from the top and back, and is a tight fit. Any side fans would strike the round horizontal bar that stabilizes the case. If you are like me and mod and open your case a lot, this would be a pain. In addition, you'd have to leave a lot of excess fan wire in order to connect it and then stuff it back into the side of the case. Would look sloppy.
 
I'm sure you could do it, but c1001 and Steeeve make good points. Then again, so does PaHick :D I did it on my ARIA, but had to dremel the bottom edge to clear the RAM slots. Big difference in airflow/noise, between an 80 or 92mm and a 120mm, though... If you go 92mm, Panaflo's use a smaller hub than most manufacturers and the bearing noise is alot quieter if you get one made in Japan.
