Hello, I am looking for a Black 19" CRT Flat to replace my 19" Pixie 995 that I have had for 5 years now. I am looking at either purchasing a ViewSonic or a NEC/Mitsubishi. I am looking to spend around $300. I am not very monitor-savy so I am going to need some advice, thanks for any help that you can give me it is much appreciated.

Here is a review I did of the Pixie last year. It's somewhat funny because I later found out that the average life expectancy of that particular model was around 6 months, I have had it since July 14 '99 :D

How can you say that the Viewsonic P95F+ is a bad monitor, all the reviews I've seen says it's a great monitor. I'm a owner of one since 2 years back and I think it's excellent, although as for the moment I use my LCD exclusively. However I haven't seen the NEC or the Mitsubishi myself, but the way you descibe it the 930sb must be the best thing since the invention of the woman ;)

Why use the word horrible when you could perhaps say that it's not as good as the 930sb and then explain why, please be constructive so that people can make the right choise.

I just purchased a NEC Multisync FE991SB Diamondtron 19" CRT with black casing last Saturday to replace my 4 year old KDS AV-195TF 19" CRT. I have to say these NEC Diamondtron series of CRT's are just beautiful in color and resolution and very nice for gaming too. I picked mine up for a steal of a price as I payed only $179.99 for mine here in IL at a place called Global Computer. Set up and calibration was a breeze right out of the box plus you can download a pretty sweet calibration program from NEC's support site that adds even more ease to settign these NEC CRT's up on the fly which is very cool. The DP930Sb is even nicer in resolution and not really that much more in price compared to teh FE991SB but I couldn't resist the $179.99 price tag on the FE991SB so I got it instead. :p

Going with a NEC 19" CRT has to be the best money I payed for a CRT to date I say. :D
