BIOS update causing boot problems?

I recently updated the BIOS for my motherboard. Asus Rampage III Formula. I updated it using the Asus EZ Flash 2 feature of the BIOS. Update went without a hitch. I restored factory defaults and powered down.

Ever since the update, every time I turn my computer on (cold start), it will power up for about 3 seconds, then turn off, then back on, then turn off, then back on and it's fine. Always in that exact sequence.

I also noticed that doing a restart from Windows will do something similar. It will power down, then back on, but this time it doesn't boot at all. Just a black screen, no POST.

Any ideas? Maybe I need to roll back...

Reflash the BIOS. When you run the utility, it should say it's done and that it wants to restart. Do nothing else but let it restart, at which point it should continue with the second part of the update. You may have interrupted the update process by restoring factory defaults before it was done. At least that's how it works with my ASUS motherboard.
