bind papers

hello!

I am not sure if this section is the correct one, or even the website is the correct one (if you know a more appropriate, please advise)

anyway, I am looking for a way to bind papers together, 10, 20, 30 max

it has to be easy to bind and fast (an automatic machine would be best)

it has to be elegant and nice in the eye and use (it will be given to customers)

any idea?

I dont know what you mean.
I dont think you understood what i refer to.
I want to bind physical paper documents to a small "book".
I also want this binding to be removable, so one can feed the papers to a scanner, but when the binding is not rwmoved, it must be very secure.

Any experience with something like this?

The removable part is important. No glue, tape or staple binding solution will be easily removable. A wire binder is removable without damaging the documents but not easily done if you intend to remove or replace pages often. Only a common ring style binder does this well which is why so many people still use them despite how awful they look.

You are right, only mechanical binding will be removable.
There are some machines that bend a metal that will hold the papers.
It is relatively secure, but it cannot be reattached, once removed.
Also it has not nice aesthetical result, when binding few documents (i can explain more if needed).
Another important aspect, is that it should not bind the documents covering too much of their area (towards righ), because the extreme left characters will be not easily visible).
I know you may think too many thoughts for such a small thing, but if there is a better solution, i would like to know it!

They have plastic bindings at copy centers, which are easily removed, just not easily put back on without the machine (unless you get creative with those binding clips to hold the stack of papers steady while you thread the bindings through the slots in the papers -- I did this for many of my class readers back when I was in college, whenever I wanted an electronic copy of the reader). There are also many other types of bindings available. Go to a copy center, find out what they have, and ask how much the machine costs. or just google it:

Sounds like you want binder clips. i know, not very elegant, but easily removable and strong as hell. I used them on spec docs quite often, and just removed the pins. If and when I needed to remove the clips, I'd reattach the pins.

If you don't want to cut into the paper yourself, get some pre-punched comb paper and some binding combs. Otherwise binder clips are the best bet. Staples along the edge maybe?

Report cover? Perhaps a slide lock type. That's what I used in college classes, and they work quite well.

I'll just go ahead and link to a few of the products.

Binder clips
Stapler - just staple the papers at the top, bottom, and middle perhaps 1/8" in from the edge, like a small book. Can't find a good picture.
Prepunched printer paper and combs depending on how large the document is.

all but Metal Binder Clips are unsuitable, since they require the papers to be pierced

however, Metal Binder Clips must be long enough, as an A4 spine

Report covers, which are pretty much the same as slide lock bindings.
