I have a Big Typhoon, origional edition. I only have one set of mounting brackets for it, and they fit socket 939. There are several other holes in the brackets, and I was wondering if these brackets fit other sockets besides 939. I bought it second hand without the origional packaging, so I just want to make sure.

go to Thermaltake's website and download the installation instructions for the Big Typhoon. It should show you what the different brackets are for.

If i remember correctly the "I" shaped bracket has about every hole pattern known to man they are perfectly ok, I cant remember what other sockets they fit. The one time i have installed one was on a S939 board.

BTW that HS seemed to collect dust like a mad man so remember to keep her clean.

Nice cooler BTW.

well, I'm actually selling it, and I basically need confirmation that it will, in fact, mount to lga 775 with just the basic bracket, and not the "I" bracket that can also be attached. I checked the pdf online, and it appears that is the case, but I just want to confirm (as does my buyer) before I ship it.

They're supposed to be able to fit 775, yeah. You need the top H-plate and the back plate bracket that it matches up against. And 4 screws. :)

It will need 2 H plates, one on top one on bottom, the foam spacer to keep the metal off the mb for the bottom H plate, 4 long M2 screws, and 4 of the worlds smallest HSF nuts.

I have the TTBT, there is/was included all the hardware for 775 MB's.

Yeah I pickup up one on Ebay recently, and it had some bits missing, like the foam pad and mylar washer. But it did have one universal H bracket that fits my 775, and a H bracket you have to assemble together, that again fits 775.

If you don't have the insulation pad/washer on the back put the nuts (they are metric M3 BTW) on the back, with insulating mylar washers. then get some extra M3 nuts for the top.

So:
BOLT --> Rear Bracket --> M3 Nut --> Mylar washer --> MOTHERBOARD --> Mylar washer --> brass spacer --> Top bracket --> M3 Nut

This works and keeps the weight ON the brackets and OFF the motherboard!
