Bh-5?

i believe that ALL pc3500LL memory is bh-5. don't think ch-5 can run that well. kinda sucks they killed off bh-5 and introduced something worse, though.

yup, one can ask why they would do so.

pull off the heatapreaders and look at the chips.

cant run that well? or you mean overclock like a muther? anyway, plenty of people get their CH-5 over 230MHz. my XMS3200LL did 237 at 2-2-2. j_lost at amdmb.com tried his old Buffalo 3200 in his new Infinity and got it that speed also, and someone i just saw in a thread on XS yesterday thought he had BH-5 cause he was at 230 2-2-2 with his Kingston at 3.0v. he had a whole thread speculating on whether he might have BH-5. then he quit being a girl and looked at the chips and says he's got CH-5 too.

course i do have some BH-5 in this same board and its doing 250MHz stable almost an hour with some Driving Strength tweaks i dont know much about, and thats with the board undervolting at 3.2. but theres nothing wrong with CH-5 if youve got a good stick.

I have the heatspreaders off, how do I tell? Does it just say BH-5 on the chips?

Yes, look at the chips. Specifically find where it lists what it is, the , BH-5, BH-6, CH-5, etc. will be at the very end of the string.

about the timings (6-2-2-2), for AMD, isn't 11-2-2-2 the best performance? i mean on nForce 2 boards......

ummmm...because they ran out? Even OCZ and Mushkin have none left. That's why they replaced their BH-5 with BH-6.

I think he he was asking why the supplier of the chips themselves would go for phase out the better chips for a lesser model. Not the companies like OCZ, MUSHKIN, CORSAIR, Et al.

dobbz if I may ask, why the mean machine with only a hagging v4?

i dont mind the Voodoo. all i play is Quake1 anyway. ill be seein what HL2, D3 and Painkiller are like, but i wont be anxious to get a new card til theyve been out awhile.

i did have a GF4 4200 a couple months ago, but the fan broke and flew off the card and out of my open case. seriously. almost immediately the machine locked up and now the card displays X-TREME artifacts in all modes, even POST. never did like nVdia anyway. id be running a sweet VoodooFX 10K ULTRAMEGA 256 if they never came around and messed things up.

Well I found out today that I have Corsair pc3500C2 Winbond BH-5 chips, What kind of fsb you guys get with these babies?
