i have a 6800gt does 395Mhzcore 1.08Ghz memory

I was wondering if I bring it back to store will I be Lucky enough to get another one that does 400 1.1GHZ maybe few more Hz

what you guys think ?

you are too greedy.....what you have is about the same performance of an Ultra board..couple of Mhz off isn't that big....there is no guarantee on OCing

dude that card sux ass mine does 430/1.15 and still idles at 51 and under playing tribes vengence beta on max settings only goes to 62 and i use the basic fan that came with it!!

Nice speeds, but your card does not full load at 62c. The temp drops over 10c between exiting a game and being able to check the temps. This is why you have to test it using a windowed program.

not to put down the BFGs or anything but they're arent as special as people might think.

other brands of the 6800 GTs (ie - PNY, Leadtech or Gainward) are just as good and sometimes even cheaper priced.

I've been really happy with my PNY 6800GT. Does 400/1.1 no problem. Might do more but I haven't pushed it. Ultra speeds are good enough for me for now.

You honestly want something that will do just 5 more mhz on the core and 20 more on the memory...

Do a benchmark at your speeds, then do the same one at 5 mhz less on the core and 20 less on the memory and SEE how much of a difference it really is.

try an flash to an ultra, that might make it more overclockable. Use the nV 6800 utlra bios, not the others, seems like your ram is whats going to keep it from going much further.

I have the same card and mine does 430/1100 with an NV5 cooler and AS5 a;pplied....if you used the autodetect clocks in the NV control panel DON'T....that card will go way over 400/1080....trust me!!!!

don't think so my comp has antec true 550 power supply & it's on its very own line
don't think thats the problem

i already tried lots of bios flash i was able to get to run 400 1100 but not stable it will run 3dmark with pauses / some ultra bios made windows restart after first test

but im getting 118XX 3Dmark with 400 1.08

A64 3200+ 1GB Ram

got a 80mm fan blowing on tap & 120mm fan blowing the heatsink can get anything better then this sux but its almost ultra speed


by the way its the new dual fan version BFG6800GToc i remove the heatsink cover its flat peice of copper add artic silver now runing coller with out cover was 63c now 59c

No need for such extremedies. (< Is that a word?)
Forget coolbits as a OC tool , Nvidia has implemented in most drivers after 2003 something to keep you form OCing their cards.
I work for a Nvidia based company
The good news is they haven't done the same to apps of such nature like Powerstrip.
Try it and you''ll see for yourselves.
From personal experience i went from a impossible to run 3D benches 425\1080 all the way to 446\1300 , with minor adjustments to bios using a app from work.
But without messing with bios the clocks will improve enough to be worth it.
I recomend disabling coolbits or simply installing driver again\upgrading and then installing and running powerstrip , needless to say you should take it slow and between clock increases run a 3D bench of your preference with attention to artifacts.

Yeah if he wanted 400/1.1 guaranteed he should have bought an ultra.

Alot of people (I for one) are achieving similar results with that card. My guess is that if you brought it back, you wouldn't have much better luck. so don't worry about it. If you want to OC better, just buy an NV5 Silencer.
