The BFG Power Supply Trade Up Program allows you to trade in your BFG power supply purchased after June 1, 2009 for a newer one, you just pay the difference in price. Today BFG has announced that, for a limited time, they are extending that offer to people that bought a PSU as far back as January 1, 2009. This offer is only good until June 12th 2009 so you better get in on the action while you can!
 
I hate to be cynical, but why are they doing this? Did they take a bad shipment of caps and don't want the bad PR of a recall or a slow cascade of warranty replacements?

We're doing it because we want customers to stay with the BFG brand. We really do want to offer customers value-added services and features to help separate us from the competition and make BFG the easier choice to make now and in the future.

Seriously, though, I like the program- sounds great.:cool:
 
Tell you what. Finish the sandwich and the DC and we'll still swap you an EX-1200 for your ES-800 and you only half to pay the difference (we'll take the card too, but you can hold onto it for us). ;)

This is an awesome program and yet another reason I gave BFG a try with my GTX 260, which I'm very happy with. Good work!

If that's the case, then I'm deeply impressed. Post-sale no-defect free upgrades are a really great service and way to generate a multi-year brand loyalty. Even though I don't have any BFG power supplies to upgrade now, this'll stay in mind for quite a while. Guess I've seen too many IT spin campaigns to immediately question an altruistic gesture to the community.
 
I definitely really like the sound of this program because right now I'm running into a stiuation where I need a bigger psu and i know i'm not going to get all my money back from selling my current psu, bfg just moved into the consideration category for my next psu.

I bought mine on Jan 8th 2009 and it isn't listed for trade up.

Bfg did a similar promotion last year, when they traded in older video cards, I traded my old agp card for a new geforce 9500 1gb oc with no cost >.>. Card is running great, and i made the choice of going with bfg for my new power supply. Thanks bfg once again.
 
I'll back that up by saying that if anyone has an issue with our EX 1000W PSU (or any power supply/GC for that matter) BFG will take care of you.

You guys know where to find me :D
