I upgraded my video card 2 months ago to this 6800GT and really like it. The other day I was messing around and found no option to go higher than 1600x1200. Not that I need to but my old 4600 went much higher, why would this be?

Have you gone onto a different monitor and/or selected the option to hide resolutions that the monitor can't show?

are you using an LCD?

u can't go higher then the native on an LCD.

are your mobo drives installed?

are the newest vid. card drivers installed?

I am not using an LCD. These are the newest drivers. The monitor is a 21" Sony CRT and I used this with my other videocard. The only thing that has changed is the videocard.

IIRC, max res for 6800 cards are 2048x1536, sounds like either driver problems or your monitor doesnt support more than 1600x1200

Thanks for the reply. The monitor is the same one I used when the 4600 was in it and I think it did 2048x1536. The drivers are the one right off the BFG disk they gave me and they were installed first right after I formated the Hard Drive.

well, there is a checkbox in the vid options that says hide modes that this monitor cannot support that if you uncheck will let you select any resolution
