Bfg 6800

I am currently looking for a new video card right now. After reading the recent review of the BFG 6800, I have come to the conclusion that this is the best card in the $300 region. What are your thoughts / opinions about this card and its price?

For that price range yes it is the best card.

I bought this card for doom 3 and half life 2 pretty much specifically and I'm 100% happy with it. Words can't describe how much of a difference it made going from a 4200 to the 6800. Just make sure that there aren't any huge capacitors blocking your AGP slot cause the card + HSF is like an inch and a half thick (for a pic see my earlier post ). I'm getting a pretty solid 40-60 fps (occasionally high 20's) @ high quality 1024x768 in doom 3 with a pentium 4 2.53 + 1066 RDram.

At some point you have to get what you can. I had an ultra and a GT and had to sell the ultra because I needed money for bills, so I got the NU and had some funds left over. The NU is a great card, and possibly with the new rivatuner we might get the other 4 pipes (fingers crossed). My GT runs well over ultra speeds at 455 core, and my NU cruises at almost 400 core, and solidly better than my old 9800XT.

I'd go for the Leadtek 6800nu, the BFG is LOUD and the Leadtek is quiet. The leadtek overclocks superbly, mainly due to it's huge copper heatsink. The BFG uses slightly faster Hynix ram 2.2ms as opposed to the leadteks 2.8ms though.
