BFG 6800 GT Problem

Yesterday I went out and bought a BFG 6800 GT. My comp specs are Athlon 64 2800, 1gig 3200 RAM, and my motherboard is a GA-K8NS Pro. Now here is the problem, when I go to my display properties, under adapter information it says PCI x0, 256mb. Shouldn't this be AGP x8? I went into setup to make sure that it was set to AGP and it was. Also my friend who has similar specs (He has an Athlon XP) ran both 3dmark03 and 05 and got significantly higher scores. I got 8000 on 03 and 2000 on 05. Im feeling that my computer is not taking full advantage of the card, do you guys have any suggestions? BTW the drivers are 6.6.8.1.

Completely uninstall your video card drivers and then install new ones.

I've tried that, I used Driver Cleaner 3, still doesnt work. I tried playing CS Source with high settings and I got very poor FPS, I am now certain something is either wrong w/ the mobo or the card

It is. I check the BFG manual it recommends I get the latest AGP mini-port drivers, however on the giga-byte website it doesnt have any.

yuck, giga-byte site sucks for getting the latest drivers. you have a nForce3 250 Chipset board. so head over to nvidia and grab the latest platform/nforce chipset drivers....

K I updated the Nforce drivers for board. It now recognizes the card as AGP 8x. 3dmark05 now shows 4500 score.
