thanks i dl the bios and when i get done doing mods to my new computer i will try out the bios on my XFX gffx 5900

I flashed to this BIOS this morning. I was using the LeadTek A380 (5950U) BIOS before that and it worked fine.

There is one strange thing about that BIOS. It clocks the card to 510MHz core/950MHz mem by default instead of 475/950. I don't mind since my card works great at 510MHz core speed, but it's something to watch out for if you card isn't stable at that speed. If so, use the LeadTek BIOS instead.

This seems to be working better than the Leadtek BIOS. There used to be dots and stuff on text that went away when you highlighted it, and now those aren't there. It also overclocks a little higher.

yeah there is one that defaults that high...there is another tho that will default to the normal 475/950

ok tried the bios that were posted by a guy named itznfb on those forums here is the direct link and so far thru all my testing the card works sweet ! and the VIVO works but I havent tested it...since the last time i tested it...i couldnt get any video in or out..i dunno if its because im a noob as vid capture..or because of my dual monitors but it does work really well...........also check the BIOS on your BFG cards....they clearly state the thing is a chaintech card :p

I can confirm that VIVO works with the 5950 BIOS posted by itznfb. I'm current watching output from my XBox on my monitor using DScaler. Quality isn't the best, but it works. Also, the default clock speeds are 475/950 with this BIOS, so no problems there either.

now only if i could gather my mental capacity to fuckin figure out the video in shit...then maybe i could use it...but it is disabled when you use dual monitors no?

:p

I'll assume that you at least installed the capture drivers? http://drivers.softpedia.com/public/download/1/1-794.shtml Don't worry about the tv tuner driver not installing correctly. The card doesn't have a TV tuner built in.

After that, you can use MS Movie Maker to capture video, or another program of your choice. VI on my BFG worked fine with the A380 BIOS and also works (no surprise) with the BFG 5950 BIOS.

yeah ive got the wdm drivers installed.
but whenever I got to select any input for a vid catpure program...it simpley reports nothing is there.
I dont know if its due to my dual monitors or what.
but it simply argues with me :p
Im new at this but im not that new LOL
