If you do not want very Deep powerful bass, then I would look at something else. The DT770 pro, and equally the DT990 pro have a lot of bass, which can overpower most instrumental symphonies with Big drums and such.
Have you looked at the Beyer Dynamic DT660?
Also, I would check out the HD590/HD595 headphones if you do not want to buy an external amp. My HD590's seem to do fine without an external amp. They are lacking a little in the low bass, but the highs are to my liking. They seem to roll off nicely. A more open feel then the BeyerDynamic DT990 pro but they are also a little less involing then the DT990's.
If you don't mind getting an amp, I would also look at the HD580's, although I personally have no listening experience with them.
If you can find a local audio store that you can listen to both of those(DT660 HD590/595), I would recommend it. I know the HD595 and HD580 can both be had for about 200$us.

And it's also why the bass is like that.
The common misconception is that low Z cans are easy to drive but the reality is they harder to drive because they typically require more current then High Z cans.
(high z cans need more voltage in comparison to low z phones)
Add an amp and guess what happens?
The bass tightens right up.

By "Z" you mean............... (i'm still new to the techincal terms).For now, I will take your word on it.
With the equipment I have on hand I just don't see a diffrence but these are not fair comparisons, as one is comming from the computer, and another from a very old CD player. When I get my little receiver and connect it to my computer, I will hopefully have a more fair comparison.
