While the 24" Dell sounds great I am wanting something that would be great for PC/XBOX 360/DVDs/Reg+Digital TV... I have been looking into various TV sets and I have found that in my price range approx $1500-2500 the sony Direct View CRTS look fantastic however I have heard great things about the Sony 32" Bravia LCD with the vga connection and game mode (Only problem with that is it only does 60hz which I am sensitive to on regular monitors).

Anyone have any tips or ideas for me? I am open to any type of display.. I am looking for something with quality over size but if I can get both that would be perfect.

There was an earlier thread mentioning these. Both are a little under 2k. The sceptre has a HDMI port with 3 modes and both ATSC and NTSC tuners. The Westinghouse has 2 dvi ports i think only one is DVI-HDCP and no tuners. Either would prob make a great HTPC device.

I just got the Westinghouse. I absolutely LOVE this monitor. I turned the backlight down to 0, constrast to 80, and it is now better looking than my 937FP Benq 19".


This monitor in 37" at 1920x1080 is amazing.

Although this monitor is almost too big for my desk. Hehe. If the 30" performed as good as this 37" and was cheaper, I probably would've still gone with the 37"


Now I want to see what 1920x1080 would be like on a 60 inch screen!!!
 
The 30 inch will have a much higher resolution then that 37 inch TV. If you want to see 60"s go down to CC or BB and take a look at the latest Sony XBR, 60 inches of 1080p goodness.
 
The 30" would be nice. It would have to have similar resolution to apple (2560x1600) in order to keep up with dot pitch size around 0.27. Of course this would mean new dual link graphics card.
Personally I don't have problem with this high resolution as it would be one massive desktop. In games one could use 1:1 scaling and get 1920x1200 on the comparable area to 2405.
I just hope it's not gonna be PVA technology descent :(

It's going to be widescreen. It's not the 3005 because in feb/mar the 2407 and 2007 will be shipping :)
 
I believe it's going to be an update to HDCP for the monitors, but don't hold me to it. They'll probably change the styling some, like when they went from the round stand 1703s, 1903s to the rectangular stand on the 1704s, 1905s, 2001s, 2005s, 2405s. May use new panels as well.
