Anything iwaki = $$$$

Plus they sound like turbine engines when they start moving the juices.
I'd say the danner mag 3 will be the pump to beat forever. You can get them for $40, they flow like crazy at high pressures, they are quiet and build heavy duty so they are reliable.

actually the danner mag3 has chronic leaking problems. It is a good pump, but be aware that if you buy it 95% chance you will have to buy silicone sealant or jbweld or something, find out where the impeller house is leaking, take it apart, replace the oring, and then seal it up good. Not to mention the plastic always cracks when you try to put new barbs in.

First lets get this straight...Iwaki performs wayyyyy better than danner. Ask cathar. And they are not loud if you mount them properly with a piece of mousepad or something on the bottom

Go with iwaki or if they are too expensive, go with the eheim 1250. The danner and iwaki perform better but the eheim is second only in reliability to iwaki, is relativley cheap, and DEAD SILENT. It is my pump of choice since iwaki is too expensive.

I mean, Are all of those pumps better than the Hydor L30?

Also, would the ehiem 1250 be able to pump through 1 black Ice micro II and one black Ice micro, a cpu block, gpu block and a res?

I don't own any pumps, but from what I've seen and read I like Swiftech's pump.
 
Also, are the pumps magneticilly shielded? I want to mount the pump on one of my hard drives. (I dont think vibrations will be much of an issue)

However, If I cant mount it on teh hard drives, It wont be much of a problem.

While Im at it, what is the best 1/2"id waterblock?

Cheeze lol... But there's a review that is like MCP600 rev 2 goes on top... if you want very good flow find a danner:D:D. I bought MCP600 coz its 12v saved money coz I don't have to buy those relay cards. Don't call me stupid(not sure) but I think Eheims need relay cards to go on same time with the comp. Yah that's the plus of MCP.

youre only the SECOND person ive heard this from, yet both people have said its a "chronic problem" my feeling is if pro-cooling hasnt said anything about it, its a bunch of bullshit
 
go over to overclockers.com and go into the watercooling section. It's true. A possible reason why those at procooling didnt mention it is because those guys are so good that maybe it wasn't even worth mentioning. they are pretty hardcore.....

While overclockers.com people may not be as knowledgeable as the ones in procooling, they do have some good people there like cathar, and you will see a lot of reports about danners leaking.
 
The Mag 3 is awesome. I've modded my reservoir so there is no restriction to the Mag's inlet and I'm getting ridiculous flow through my system. Any problems with leaking can be fixed with a $2 tube of silicone sealant. If your impeller housing cracks, it can be replace for $10 at Reefgeek. No big deal.
 
Before purchasing my first pump, I did a lot of reading as well. I recall reading a lot of threads about the danner mag pumps leaking around the impellar housing, cracking at the intake barb and impellar housing screw points, and having an overall noisy impellar. One of the sites I got this info from was Procooling

I bought the mag3, opened it up, superglued the impellar to the shaft to avoid the clicking. I sealed the impellar housing with RTV to avoid the leaking that was a problem. The pump worked good for about 4 mo, but eventually the impellar housing cracked at the intake barb threads and coated the floor of my case with water.

The plastic that the impellar housing is made of is just to thin IMO, and you can see the creases of where it was pressed together. They just scare me too much to use anymore. Yeah parts are easy to get for them, but I dont feel like continually stripping my loop and rebuilding my pump...
 
I really like how the swiftech mcp600 runs off of 12v power and how small it is.

Would it be able to pump through a black ice micro2, a black ice micro, the dangerden rbx, and a gpu block?

I leak test my setup on the counter in the kitchen. Good luck doing that with a 12V pump, unless you have a modded PSU laying around. I also don't see how you can bleed your system with a 12V pump. My Criticool PCI relay has a bleed switch.

you just ground the PS_ON (green wire) and flip the switch to the power supply and there you go, working 12V pump without turning on your computer.
