Best PSU???

I am soon to be in the market for a new PSU, and through my searches have found some good information on review sites, but was looking for fellow enthusiasts thoughts and experiances with their PSU's.

I will be looking to upgrade to a Crossfire set-up, with a Dual core CPU. IF possible I would also like the future option to upgrade to a WC'ed system, so those are my future plans.

So far these are what I may have narrowed it down to.

Silencer 750 EPS12V

OCZ GameXStream 700w Power Supply
(The 600 Watt option is also appealing)

Any thoughts or suggestions....any input would be extremely helpfull!

Thanks
~WooD

I'm going to upgrade soon, and its going to be the 750 silencer they look pretty
good as you know they come from the pcpower and cooling one of the best manufactures
around.

there really is no 'best psu' because everyone's needs are different. some might want modular or not. silent or no preference. budgets are also a key point in what makes a good psu. but if i had to put a name on the 'best psu', it would be (in no particular order) PCP&C, Enermax, Antec, OCZ, Zippy, Forton and Seasonic. but thats just me :)

True, budget is a big factor in most situations, but I never mind spending the extra coin for a top notch component. Noise...I would prefer something cool & quiet, but thanks for the options.

Any others?

I really like the Silencer 750 EPS12V but I havnt been able to find too many reviews out there, but I guess its still new, so I might have to wait a bit. Also 750 Watt seems a bit above and beyond my power requirements.

Between your two choices, I'm going to say the Silencer.

And I agree your subject is deceiving. "Best PSU??" sounds like you're asking for people's opinions on the best PSU. You should say "narrowed down to two"

The Silencer doesn't need to be reviewed. Seriously.

It's PC Power & Cooling - that's all you need to know.

Not only are they pretty much the best PSUs you can get, but they have the customer service and warranty to back it

If you can afford it grab it and it shall serve you well for many years.

I am looking for people opinions, those 2 choices are just the ones that I have nominated and am considering, but I am looking for other peoples suggestions and feedback.

No. Like aiya was saying; what's best for one person may not be for another. That, and most people here only have experience with the two or three power supplies they may have used in their own machines in the last couple of years.

Most people that work in the industry that actually see a plethora of product and actually know the pros, cons and failure rates of each and every model of each and every computer product are not wasting their time hanginig out at tech forums talking the same shop talk they have to talk about for a minimum of 40 hours a week. They're probably doing more constructive things like watching SNL and Family Guy clips on YouTube or downloading free porn and MP3's.

So what's that say about you, jonny? :p

Oops... I forgot the "in their underwear" part of that.

I'm running in God mode. I am omnipotent. I am everywhere, yet nowhere, with unlimited ammo and health. And I have hats that make me look terribly important.

Silencer is a nice choice. Remember it is 7 inches long+ , so make sure you have a bit extra room in your case so the cables dont crash into the optical drives.

I just crammed a PC P&C TurboCool 850 into my midtower case......its 9 inches long and I really had to get inventive with all the cables.

The Silencer will be a good choice for quite a while. You will have all the power you need for the future. The 850 was way over what I need right now.......but I'll probably not need to replace it for a good long time.
I think the real problem is, if you have or invision dual cards, 600W may not be enough and there isnt much right now between 600 and 750 to choose from. (relatively speaking).
750 will last a long time toward upgrades. I mean do you buy 1 200 dollar PSU or keep upgrading several times with 100 dollar PSUs........

For the price/power ratio.. the OCZ 700w GameXtream is really nice. I just built it with my new AM2.. It has plenty of connectors and they are organized really nice. The sleeving job is perfect, the psu is silent, and it puts out plenty of power for future expandability and SLI.

:D I wasn't actually trying to be sarcastic, although I can see how it might have sounded like that.

I havent seen all that you've seen, meestar GURU, but I've seen a lot - and I've never seen a PC Power & Cooling unit that I didn't like. :)

Nah.
I got nothing better to do anyways. Besides, some of us get a kick out of what a lof of the kids say. And for some reason, gods only know why, think we can maybe impart some clue through those thick skulls of theirs.
