Hey everyone I am tired of my cannon mp 160 running out of expensive ink every month, does anyone know the best printer efficiency wise? Inexpensive ink replacement and it doesn't use it up fast?

Colour is not needed I only use black and white.

Get a laser printer. The cost 1/10 as much per page to print as ink jets. Be careful to look at reviews however because some of them are designed to waste toner on purpose.

From experience, I would for HP laser printers.

That is not true these days... inkjet have much better yields than before and plus inkjets use far less power than laser and have faster start to print times.

Yes, but the power use is not important unless you are printing all the time. The standby power of inkjets and laser printers is roughly the same.

The conclusion of that very small study? “Inkjet printers use up to 90 per cent less power than laser printers while printing, but things are pretty much even in standby mode

If you are not printing the same amount as a small office, you won't notice the difference on your power bill. Lasers also have the advantage of the toner never going bad. Also, modern laser printers spit out the first printed page in under 10 seconds, which puts then in the neighborhood of a fast inkjet printing in draft mode.

I'm using this laser printer, and I love it. The wireless works on both OS X and Windows 7, so you can put the printer in any room you want. When I print a page, it's done in well-under 10 seconds.
