I am trying to find a mouse that I can use on my retro gaming machine.

It needs to be either be PS/2 or work with a USB-PS/2 adapter so I can use it in DOS.

Laser or similar is preferred. I don't want the old style optical if I can help it.

I don't care if it is wired or wireless.

Any recommendations?

Here is a list brand name of ones that I have found so far. I will add more as I find them.

Lower end:
Logitech B120 (wired optical)
Microsoft CE0560 (wireless optical - states USB/PS2 on receiver sticker)

Logitech MX310 (wired optical)
Logitech LX3 (wired optical)
Logitech LX5 (wireless optical)
Logitech LX6 (wireless optical)
Logitech LX7 (wireless optical)

Higher end:
Lenovo USB Laser Mouse 41U3074 (wired laser)
Logitech MX400 (wired laser)
Logitech MX500 (wired optical)
Logitech MX510 (wired optical)
Logitech MX518 (wired optical)
Logitech MX600 (wireless laser)
Logitech MX610 (wireless laser)
Logitech MX700 (wireless optical)
Logitech MX1000 (wireless laser) - there are two different versions of the receiver. One with both USB and PS/2 plugs and one with just a USB plug that also works with a PS/2 adapter.
Logitech G5 (wired laser)

Here is a list of ones I have personally tested and found to work:
Logitech Marble Mouse USB (wired optical trackball)
Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical (wired optical - specifically says USB and PS/2 compatible on the sticker)

There are a bunch of generic ones that would probably work as well, but looking for something that will hold up.

From what I could find, any that are able to have keyboard functions assigned to them will not work as they are seen as both a mouse and a keyboard through USB.

Here is a list of USB mice that I have tested that do not work with a PS/2 adapter:
Dell MS111-P (wired laser)
Dell 4K93W (wired laser)
Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 (wireless bluetrack)
Logitech M510 (wireless laser) (unifying receiver). I am almost 100% sure that none with a unifying receiver will work.
