There is no maintenance utility out there that anyone really needs. That's the beauty of Vista - it can take care of itself, as long as you... <drumroll please>
Leave it alone.
Adding more software to do things that Vista typically already does on its own just mucks things up in the long run. Vista self-tunes, hence it tends to get faster over time as compared to all previous versions of Windows that tend to get slower. But adding a bunch of apps - or even just one - that supposedly "fixes" issues will only serve to cause Vista to shoot itself in the proverbial foot.
Vista defrags itself when needed (if fragmentation crosses about 3% it'll do extremely low level defragmentation that you don't even notice happening), and a bunch of other tasks that literally required third-party software with previous versions of Windows.
The only thing you "need" to do might be running something like CCleaner once or twice a week to clear out the temp gunk that develops in temp files, the IE/Firefox/Opera caches, and that's about it.
I never even liked/used 3rd party maint utilities in past OS's either...CCleaner being pretty much the only exception...for cleaning up temp files a little more thoroughly than the native Windows cleanup can.
