so im looking to get a new set up. been hearing a lot about the ASUS VH242H but kinda want a bigger display. maybe an lcd tv. anyone has the toshiba regza 32RV530? hows the performance on that? and how far do you have to sit to not be overhwhlmed when gaming?

I normally wouldn't recommend HD TVs as they traditionally have large amounts of input lag, especially ones with higher refresh rates due to interpolation and its inherent nature of causing large amounts of input lag.

There are some HD TVs known for their rather low input lags (most of which are 60Hz panels). One example would be the LG LH30 series of LCD monitors. I have the 42" version and initial use just in the desktop didn't feel laggy at all, though I haven't gamed with it yet. Others will hopefully pitch in as to what they know about input lag in HD TV monitors, as that's not readily advertised except for "Game" HD TV monitors, like some Samsungs.

Most if not all 120Hz and 240Hz HDTV should allow you to switch to 60Hz mode to eliminate input lag resulting from the insertion of interpolated frames.

The BEST gaming LCDs are the Samsung 2233rz and the Viewsonic VX2265wm, because they are the only true 120Hz LCDs - they will take 120Hz from the video card. All 120Hz and 240Hz LCD TVs actually take 60Hz from the video card and are no better (and often worse) than other LCD monitors.

A 32" is not too big to sit close to, its just too big to have really crisp response time for gaming. If you want a big monitor for other things BESIDES gaming, like watching movies etc, the Toshiba might be a good buy.

the VX2268wm!!! its version 2 with adjustable brightness at 120hz and has a OSD menu that the 65 lacks hehe.

Is it out in the US then? The links I google seem to suggest in the UK and Hong Kong, but not here.
