Best Digital 8.1 Speakers

I'm after some new speakers for my Shuttle SD31P

its got on board 8 channel audio with SPDIF out...

Any recommendations on some speakers...

I'm after something not too bulky, but I would like decent bass...

im pretty sure 8 channel equals 7.1 and im unware of 8.1 if there is such a thing cuz i never heard of it.
 
I never heard of 8.1 digital speakers. I sure you beable to custom built it. by manaully buying the speakers and then the reciver etc.
 
There are no true 8.1 channel sources currently, and thus what your output really is is 7.1. It is possible to have an 8.1 setup using a 6.1 setup and having two effects speakers, but this requires a compatible receiver.

been looking at the Creative, ive read good reviews..
any other thoughts?
 
Gigaworks S750 for computer speakers but if you want true 7.1 get a receiver and Home theater speakers
 
Man where can I get digital speakers? :confused: The only speakers I have are analog ones...:(...:p...

those are kinda expensive...
mx budget 250.. and i'm pushing is there... and maybe something smaller.....
i like 2wys and all.. but i don;t think ill really need em...
i mostly be using this for gaming, and music

You want 8.1 or 7.1 (as 8.1 really isn't possible, it wouldn't be an extra channel, just another location of sound) for $250? Good luck. You'd be much better suited with an okay 2.1 rather then a hideously crappy 7.1 that you'd find for that price.

Sheez, I spent 4 times that on a 5.1 and I felt like I could have done alot better if I could have afforded it. Kids want everything for nothing these days :D
 
I was unaware of there not being any 8.1 speakers on the market...
I knew 7.1... but I was just quoting shuttles site, when i said 8 channel audio, as Im not up on speakers systems right now, thats why I decided to post and ask some ppl who whould now better then I.

How you like your Aqous... I was thinking about doing the same thing with a shuttle, and using the larger LCD TV as monitor... as long as it hits 1080p ... i can't see how it would look bad.....?

does it looked stretched @ all?... or misplacement of edges of screen??
