I'm looking for the best or close to the best wireless adapter for my pc. It could be pci or usb or whatever. I am up 3 stories from the router and about 70 feet away. It goes through a metal door and two ceilings. I have a regular D-Link 54 mbps router, about a year old and I use a Linksys wusb54g (it's horrible, drops the signal every couple minutes, and is just a little faster than dial-up when we have cable.... What is my best option? Anything under $100 would be great, thanks in advance. :D

if you are able to...flash your linksys router with a 3rd party firmware, then bump up the XMit value....increases the range.

heh, well in that case...STAY AWAY FROM NETGEAR

It is great that they have their own forum for customers to get help...and it is expected for them to have problems...but as far as I've noticed there is only one netgear employee monitoring the problems and even then...gives little to know help.

I have a Hawking 54G card and have had no problems. My best card yet.
