What would you guys go with? I plan on doing some mods but if some are already done thats fine I'm just having a hard time picking out what would be the best quality/looking for not a ton of money
 
Personally, I like the Sky Hawk aluminum cases. They are lightweight, nice looking brushed aluminum and very well built. I picked up 2 of these for modding projects at Dealsonic.com for $40 shipped each. They also have these ones for like 10 bucks more.

They make great, inexpensive cases IMHO.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the $40 shipped ones also have removable motherboard trays which is on the top of my list when I shop for cases.
 
How would this case compare to the quality of an Antec Sonata? I am thinking I want to get a new case and I can't decide between a CM Stacker, Antec P180, or ..
 
I am getting a coolermaster centurion 5, they look really nice IMO. So do the cooler master cavaliers and they meet your budget.
 
welll some people are sketchy on the quality of the skyhawk cases. however, it does seem like a good starting point if you plan to do a lot of mods. but compared to brands like antec they simply won't match the quality especially considering the type of materials used. anyways, i'm recently replacing my antec sonata with a chenming 601. i know it's an older design but i wanted a bigger case and better cooling options.

I was going to order one but then I saw one at compusa. The front button was basically popping out and making it look cheap.

I'm not sure who you're getting your information from, but I can tell you from personal experience that the Sky Hawk cases are very well built. They use an all aluminum alloy for the chassis and panels and also have an aluminum front bezel (unlike Chieftec cases and alot of other with plastic front bezels). All panels are removable using screws (no rivets) and the one I bought has a removable motherboard tray.

I have used all of the following cases: Chieftec dragon series, Coolermaster Praetorian and Wavemaster, Lian Li 6077 and PC-65 series, Antec Solution series and a variety of cheaper Rosewill, Raidmax and Aspire cases. I can honestly say that the Sky Hawk cases I've used are just as well built as most of them except maybe the Lian Li cases. As I stated before, for $40 you really can't go wrong with the Sky Hawk cases.

If you really want to spend more though, I would higly recommend the CoolerMaster Praetorian or Lian Li PC-6077 or PC-65 Of course, those are $40-$50 over your expected budget. I really don't think there are many sub-$70 cases that are as good quality as the Sky Hawk cases. You can get an Aspire or Raidmax that has pre-modded windows, lights, etc. for a decent price but the cases themselves aren't very well built. I think you would be better off getting a Sky Hawk and adding your own window, lights, etc. and still be under your $70 budget. Just my opinion.
