Benq 2765 HT no signal detected (display port issue)

Whenever I turn this monitor off or switch the input source and switch back to display port, it says no signal detected. It is only after I unplug the monitor, wait for it to turn off (seems to have some kind of battery and doesn't turn off immediately) and then plug it back in, does it return to normal.

This can be frustrating when I'm switching to another source (like wii u) then going back to pc on display port.

I wanted to know if anyone with this issue tried to switch on the dp cable for a dp certified one and if it solved the problem? I searched so many threads and no one reported trying this.

This issue used to be corrected by power cycling the monitor but now that is not working. Any ideas? Using a trip monitor setup out of my gtx 1080 and its not getting detected after i was using it in hdmi mode.
